Mahindra has announced that the brand has launched a free service initiative called ‘Oxygen on Wheels’ (O2W). Through the new initiative, the brand will be strengthening the availability of oxygen in major cities. Thus connecting the Oxygen producers with hospitals and medical centres, amidst the acute shortage of medical Oxygen.
O2W To Ensure Swift Supply Oxygen Supply
Under the Oxygen on Wheels initiative, Mahindra has commissioned 100 vehicles that will ferry medical Oxygen to hospitals and medical centres. The initiative has commenced in Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Chakan, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Nasik and Nagpur. The brand is also in discussions with the civic administration and government departments to extend the free service to other cities. Also, talks are underway to include Delhi under the initiative which is in dire need of medical oxygen. Mahindra is also considering delivering Oxygen cylinders directly to patients’ homes.
Mahindra Logistics
The logistics division will be partnering with local government bodies and hospitals to bridge the gap between supply and demand. Mahindra Logistics has a command centre integrated with a large fleet of vehicles that boasts to create an endless chain of supply of Oxygen. This will help ensure that medical oxygen reaches hospitals and medical centres in time and in a safe manner. Mahindra’s initiative will not only help reduce the pressure on our healthcare services but also help save lives.
Mahindra’s Fight Against COVID-19
The brand has been raising funds to sustain the government’s efforts along with providing ICU beds and emergency cab services. Mahindra has also made efforts through building quarantine centres and re-tooling its production plants to manufacture PPE, face shields, face masks and aerosol boxes. The brand also provided monetary support and dry rations for the underprivileged. Mahindra is also working with the government on setting up oxygen plants and building isolation centres. M&M plants as well as its suppliers are also making sure that Oxygen is not being used for any industrial activity.
