Honda Cars India releases its sales performance for January 2022. The carmaker sold a total of 10,427 units for the given period. In terms of international business, HCIL’s export figure stood at 1,722 units. This, when compared to last year’s figure, it stood at 11,319 units as domestic sales and 1,233 units as exports. Honda mentioned that sales have been impacted due to weekend lockdowns in some cities. Furthermore, the recent spike in the number of Covid cases acted as a negative factor in terms of customer sentiments. The start of the year has been quite positive, and the carmaker believes that the market situation will improve with the reduction in the Covid cases.
Honda Car India’s Current Lineup Of Products
With the growing demand for SUVs in the market, Honda Cars India must include one in its portfolio very soon. As it stands, the carmaker only has four products in its range. This includes Honda Jazz, Honda Amaze, Honda WR-V, and Honda City. Even though the demand for sedans is not so high, both Amaze and City are selling in good numbers. These two are currently spearheading Honda’s sale in India. The generation update to the Honda City has created a very positive impact in the market. Customers are showing a very positive response, although the competition is set to increase with the launch of Skoda Slavia soon.
Honda’s Plans For The SUV Segment
As it stands, Honda is preparing to launch a Creta rival in the market. Although we do not have any official update regarding the same, the chances are high. We even do not have any launch timeline as of yet. Recently in Indonesia, Honda unveiled a new BR-V based RS SUV concept. Some sources do suggest that the Creta rival from Honda will derive its inspiration from this. But, till then, we wait to hear from Honda on the concrete details of the SUV.
