Isuzu has officially revealed the D-Max EV, marking its entry into the electric pickup truck segment. The unveiling took place at the 2025 Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham, where the brand showcased the production-ready model.

Design and features

The D-Max EV retains the bold styling of its diesel counterpart, featuring a closed-off grille, refreshed LED headlights, and sportier dual-tone alloy wheels. The model showcased at the event sported a Norwegian Blue paint job, adding a premium touch.

Inside, the D-Max EV offers a modernized cabin, equipped with a high-resolution touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and dual-zone climate control. Passenger comfort has been enhanced with heated front seats and improved noise insulation.

Performance and battery

Powering the D-Max EV is a 66.9 kWh lithium-ion battery, delivering a WLTP-rated range of 263 km. The dual-motor setup produces 140 kW (190 PS) and 325 Nm of torque, ensuring strong performance across various terrains.

The pickup accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 10.1 seconds, with a top speed of 128 km/h. Charging options include 11 kW AC charging (0-100% in 10 hours) and 50 kW DC fast charging (20-80% in one hour).

Off-Road capability

The D-Max EV is built for rugged conditions, featuring full-time 4WD, multi-level regenerative braking, and an Eco Mode. It boasts a 600 mm water wading capacity, 210 mm ground clearance, and approach/departure angles of 30.5° and 24.2°, making it a capable off-roader.

Market position and rivals

The 4×4 EV is the first fully electric commercial pickup in Europe to offer over 1-tonne payload and 3.5-tonne towing capacity. It will compete with upcoming electric models like the KGM Musso EV and Maxus eTerron 9.

Production has already commenced in Thailand, with European deliveries expected later this year. A right-hand drive version is scheduled for launch in 2026, with potential availability in India.
