Obtaining a driving license in India will become much tougher. The Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari in a written reply mentioned that an individual has to score 69 per cent or above in order to pass the driving license test. Strict Test To Obtain A Valid Driving license This step will make sure that the new drivers are skilful and qualified enough which will help in improving the overall road safety in the country. Nitin Gadkari also talked about the new features which will form a part of this driving test. The test-takers will get to see a demo of the test on an LED screen installed at all Automated Driving Test Tracks across the country. Along with that, the test taker will also get to see a live demonstration at the test track which will help them to know more about the track and get an idea of how to tackle the different tests. Citizens will also have an option to have a look at the test demo while booking for their appointment date, via a video link provided. This link will have a video of the skill test demo, which the customers can watch from the comfort of their home. Most Of The RTO Services Made Online In a recent announcement, MoRTH listed down a total of 18 services that now come under the online services. This was a very positive step which was much awaited for a long time. Given the current situation of rising COVID-19 cases, this new step will make sure that the citizens do not have to leave their home and get all their RTO related work done from their home. In fact, RTOs are one of the most crowded locations with people coming from all over the district, thus it becomes equally important to take steps to decongest the RTOs in the country. In other news, MoRTH has been announcing a lot of new innovative services which will help improve the Indian transport system greatly like the implementation of a GPS-based toll system, mandatory FASTag to pay tolls, the new scrappage policy and more.
