New-generation Jeep Compass EV details

Not long ago, Jeep teased the images of its upcoming generation of the Compass SUV. Now, yet another test mule has been spotted in Europe, showing the final phase details of the production-ready car.

For starters, the new-generation Compass will feature the STLA Medium platform, which is also shared with the upcoming Citroen C5 and the Peugeot 3008. Not to mention, its chassis has been tweaked to utilise multiple powertrain options, including a fully electric version, which is seen here.

The heavily covered test car shows the boxy design silhouette of the new Compass. It will retain the Jeep’s iconic SUV styling with chiselled and muscular body panels and wraparound lights. However, the overall styling will appear more rugged and imposing, as compared to the current model.

A few of the visible bits showcase the all-black five-spoke alloy wheels and big disc brakes, which are likely hiding the regen motors behind them. The slight display of the LED lights also hints at a refreshing outlook for the new model.

Now, as far as the battery packs are concerned, the Peugeot 3008 is sold with a 73 kWh and a 97 kWh option. As the new-gen Compass is suspended on the same platform, we assume it will get identical battery sizes. The maximum range can be somewhere between 400-500 km.

The new-gen Compass will also be offered with the new plug-in and mild-hybrid ICE powertrain options. Its official debut is likely to take place in the second half of 2025.

Sadly, Jeep has axed the plans of launching the new-gen Compass in India due to the lack of financial feasibility.

Our conclusion

The new-gen Compass is a much-awaited compact SUV worldwide. Jeep has been working hard to iron out all the flaws of the current model, and equip the new model with the 4×4 capability along with the advanced features and technology.
