Mahindra and BlackBerry have announced a new Cockpit Domain Controller (CDC) for the new XUV700 SUV. The brand has revealed that the QNX Neutrino Realtime Operating System (RTOS) and QNX Hypervisor has now entered mass production. The CDC will help Mahindra leverage BlackBerry’s platform has been selected to power the new XUV700 SUV. This will offer Indian consumers a more intuitive and intelligent in-car driving experience. This will also help BlackBerry expand its market to India. BlackBerry’s QNX technology is in production programs with 45 different OEMs, 7/7 of the top Tier 1s and over 195 million vehicles worldwide.

The technology is set to become a key differentiator in the new Mahindra XUV700. The Mahindra XUV700 makes use of next-generation electrical
and electronics (E/E) architecture. This enables the brand to offer an advanced infotainment system and a strong suite of sophisticated driver assistance systems. The electronics architecture also helps the brand establish a top position in this class of vehicles manufactured in India. The latest electronics also features an elevated level of safety, security and comfort.
BlackBerry QNX Hypervisor
The brand reveals that BlackBerry will Combine the latest in chip technology with the highly reliable QNX Hypervisor. The Mahindra XUV700 also allows design flexibility and scalability to consolidate multiple systems, revealing the brand. The electronics suite on the vehicle comes with mixed-criticality and different operating environments. All this works on a single hardware platform, reducing both the initial development and long-term costs of ownership. The brand will also provide the highest standards of functional safety and security.
Mahindra XUV700 – Infotainment
The Mahindra XUV700 comes with dual HD 10.25-inch displays. A touchscreen display on the left-hand side for infotainment another for the instruments. The displays come with wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay integration as well as Amazon Alexa with 60+ connected features.
