2021 Mahindra XUV700 Review

Mahindra, on the 75th Independence day, launched the much-awaited XUV700 in the Indian market. The brand has set the starting price at INR 11.99 lakh ex-showroom, disrupting the SUV segment. Mahindra launched the XUV700 with a dual trim concept – MX and AX. The XUV700 comes with both petrol and diesel fuel options as well as manual and automatic transmissions. The brand is also offering an All-Wheel-Drivetrain as an option for off-road enthusiasts. The higher-spec model also comes with the new AdrenoX user interface as well as ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System). 

Mahindra XUV700 – Variants and Price

Mahindra has unveiled two models in the MX variant and two models in the AX variant. The brand will be further announcing the prices on the full variant line-up in the near future. The base MX variant with the petrol engine starts at INR 11.99 ex-showroom. The MX variant with the diesel engine comes with a price starting at INR 12.49 lakh ex-showroom. The AdrenoX, AX3 variant comes with a price starting at INR 13.99 lakh ex-showroom and the AX5 trim for INR 14.99 lakh ex-showroom. Both models are available in the petrol engine option.

Mahindra XUV700 – Engine Specifications

Powering the Mahindra XUV700 is a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine. The petrol engine makes 200 PS of power and 380 Nm of torque. The diesel engine on the MX variant produces 155 PS of power and 360 Nm of torque and 185 PS of power and 420 Nm of torque on the AX trim with the manual gearbox option and 185 PS of power and 450 Nm of torque on the automatic variant. 

Mahindra XUV700 – Top Features

The Mahindra XUV700 comes with features such as LED headlamps and taillamps, 17-inch steel wheels on the MX trim and 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels on the AX variant. The MX trim comes with a 7-inch instruments cluster and an 8-inch infotainment system. But the AdrenoX or AX series comes with a 10.25-inch full-colour digital instruments cluster as well as a 10.25-inch infotainment screen. The AX series also has 60+ connected features, Amazon Alexa, Wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto integration.

Higher spec AX variants also get Skyroof panoramic sunroof, clear-view headlamps, sequential indicators and cornering lamps. The AX7 trim, which is the top-spec model, also comes with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System). ADAS comes with Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning etc.

The car also comes with 7-airbags, including curtain airbags, side airbags, knee airbags and Driver Drowsiness Alert. Top features also include Dual Zone Climate Control with Smart Clean Zone Filter, 6-Way Power seat with Memory, Leatherette Seat and Leather Steering & Gear lever. The brand also announced that the company would be announcing additional features such as Immersive 3D Sound by Sony, electrically-deployed Smart Door Handles, 360 Surround View, Blind View Monitoring, Electronic Park Brake and Wireless Charging on a later date.
