Kia India releases its June 2021 sales breakup. The South Korean car manufacturer recorded 15,015 units in June 2021, which translates to a Y-o-Y growth of 106 per cent. The top-selling product is the Seltos with 8,549 units, followed by Sonet at 5,963 and Carnival at 503 units. Kia mentioned that they registered an M-o-M growth of 36 per cent, which suggests that the market is again picking up pace in terms of sales. The previous two months were quite difficult for all the automotive firms. Given the sporadic lockdowns and uncertain restrictions, customers’ sentiments were relatively low. And now that the cases are showing a decreasing trend, the situation is somewhat getting back to normal.
The Second Half Of 2021 Looks Promising For Kia
From January to June 2021, Kia sold a total of 1,00,000 units in the domestic market. And the company will look to continue this trend in the second half of 2021 as well. The Seltos has been a blockbuster product from Kia in terms of sales figures. The SUV has contributed to almost 50 per cent of Kia’s sales in India and has sold close to 50,000 units to date. Sonet is not much behind, and it has sold close to 46,000 units, thus accounting for 47 per cent of Kia’s overall sales in the domestic market.
Kia India And Its Future Plans
Currently, Kia has a network of over 300 touch points covering all the major cities and towns across India. Further, the company is working aggressively to add more touchpoints, especially in Tier IV towns and the rural parts of the country. Globally, Kia is emerging as one of the top innovative car manufacturers with heavy investment to enhance digital services. Kia has unveiled a new brand logo and tagline to reflect upon the same. Along with Hyundai, Kia India has complete dominance in the SUV segment. And both the Korean siblings have some big plans for the future as well.
