Honda Cars India has released its sales performance report for April 2022. The carmaker has sold a total of 7,874 units in the domestic market. Meanwhile, the export figure stood at 2,042 units for the given period. The same for last year, i.e. April 2021 stood at 9,072 units and 970 units for domestic sales and exports respectively. With business opening up, Honda Cars India is making a strong comeback. But, the disruption in the global supply chain continues to bottleneck the manufacturer’s production and delivery. However, Honda mentioned that they are optimistic and that, hopefully, the situation will improve soon.
Honda India’s Lineup Of Cars
Currently, the Japanese carmaker sells a total of 4 models in the country. This includes Honda Jazz, Honda WR-V, Honda Amaze and Honda City. The two sedan offerings, i.e. Amaze and City, are selling in good numbers in their respective segments. The Honda City is still dubbed as the benchmark for the C-segment sedan category. The sedan packs a powerful engine and is also feature-rich. ‘Honda City’ title is also a class statement in the Indian market. To further mix up the things, Honda has decided to launch the hybrid version in the City for the Indian market. Named, e:HEV, the hybrid version will launch for the Indian market on 4th May 2022.
What Is City e:HEV?
Think of it as a car that runs both on an engine and a battery. The advantages? Better mileage. In fact, Honda claims that one can achieve a fuel efficiency of up to 26.5 kmpl. The equipped battery and engine help the car produce 109 hp. The battery pack will mostly come into play at the start/stop traffic, thus boosting the fuel efficiency significantly. The sedan also features a host of changes for both the exteriors and interiors. We have covered a story on the same, and you can read about it by following the link given below.
