Honda 2Wheelers India posted its sales figure for March 2022 and FY 2022. The two-wheeler maker sold a total of 3,21,343 units for the given period. This includes domestic sales of 3,09,549 units and 11,794 units as exports. In terms of quarterly results, Honda 2Wheelers posted a total sales of 37,99,680 two-wheelers. Of which 34,68,828 units accounted for domestic sales and 3,30,852 as exports. When compared to last fiscal year, the export figures rose by 58 per cent. Further, FY 2022 also marks the year in which Honda celebrated 5 crore customers in the country.
Key Highlights Of FY 2021-22
With the demand for Honda’s premium motorcycles on the rise, the motorcycle is expanding its BigWing chain of dealerships. As of now, BigWing India has its dealership at over 100 touchpoints across the country. With the sentiments going strong towards online service, Honda now has its BigWing’s virtual showroom setup. This digital platform will enable more customers to experience Honda’s range of premium motorcycles from the comfort of their homes.
Furthermore, retailers and distributors can now use Honda’s dedicated supply parts mobile application. With this, they can leverage digital solutions to further enhance parts’ operations across the sales channel. Expanding its business overseas, Honda 2Wheelers India integrated SEDBQ (Sales, Engineering, Development, Purchasing and Quality) function with the aim to establish India as a global export hub for Honda.
New Product Launches
In the FY 2021-22, Honda 2Wheelers India launched a total of 8 new models. This includes Grazia125 Repsol Honda Team Edition, CB200X, and Activa 125 Premium Edition. And in the BigWing vertical, we saw the Anniversary edition of Bo’ness CB350, along with new year models for Gold Wing Tour, CB300R, CBR650R, and Africa Twin were, launched. Honda Shine became the most sought after model in the 125cc segment, with total customers breaching the 1 crore figure.
Other Updates
The inaugural round of the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship saw IDEMITSU Honda Racing India Team earn 11 points in a single round for the first time in the AP250 class championship. In the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge 2022, Honda riders Ricky Brabec & Pablo Quintanilla won 2 nd and 3 rd positions, respectively.
