One of India’s largest electric two-wheeler manufacturers, Hero Electric, has announced its partnership with Bengaluru-based EV Charging start-up, Charzer. By partnering with the Brigade REAP mentored start-up, Hero Electric plans to install 100,000 charging stations in a year. This will enable both companies to further standardize EV infrastructure along with creating a robust EV ecosystem in India.
Charzer plans to deploy its Kirana Charzer across all Hero Electric dealerships to create an accessible charging facility for customers. Via the start-up’s mobile app and website, EV owners can locate the nearest charging stations along with booking their slots. According to Charzer, EV owners can also access the charging facility via a subscription-based model. Hero Electric aims to pioneer its efforts by creating a robust charging network using junctions at local stores and common areas.
