Aprilia launches the updated SR 125 with a price tag of INR 1,07,595 (ex-showroom). There are some significant changes to the scooter, and we will go through each of them. The brand’s SR range of scooters is trendy among the younger generation looking for a sporty scooter. Aprilia now has updated the scooter with some excellent value addition making it even more desirable than before.

Changes In The Updated Model

The SR 125 now gets a much sharper design accentuated with a sharper V-shaped LED headlight and LED tail-lamp. The front apron and grab rails are also of a new design. One of the interesting features of this new model is the split seat, which is quite unusual for scooters, especially in India. The scooter now wears CEAT’s shoes instead of MRF’s as present in the outgoing model. The scooter gets the 124.5 cc single-cylinder oil-cooled motor along with an electronic fuel injector system. The performance output of the Aprilia 125 is set at 9.78 HP of power and 9.70 Nm of torque. Braking power comes from disc setup at the front and drum at the rear with CBS as standard fitment.

To add to the excitement, Aprilia is now using a fully digital instrument cluster just like the one present in the SXR 160. The rider will get all the necessary riding statistics. This includes trip counters, speed, fuel consumption data and more. One key addition is the tachometer which is usually not present in scooters. Sadly, Aprilia is yet to provide Bluetooth connectivity with the scooter, which is unusual given the rising demand for connected tech features.

What Does It Stacks Up Against Its Competition?

Priced at INR 1.08 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Aprilia SR 125 is almost INR 13,000 more expensive than the outgoing model. Its closest rivals in terms of engine capacity and target audience are TVS Ntorq 125, Suzuki Burgman Street 125, Yamaha Ray ZR 125 and Honda Grazia. Amongst all, the Aprilia SR 125 is the most expensive offering. But, with the higher price, you also get the brand tag of Aprilia, which adds to the premium-ness. Aprilia has also launched the 160cc version, in the form of the SR 160. This scooter has a sticker price of INR 1.17 lakh (ex-showroom).
