  • The bike appears to blend elements from the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X, offering a lower seat height and urban-friendly design.
  • Expected to launch in late 2025, positioned between the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X in Triumph’s lineup.

Triumph Motorcycles is expanding its 400cc lineup, and the latest spy shots reveal a new Street Scrambler 400 undergoing tests in Europe. The motorcycle appears to be a street-focused scrambler, blending elements from the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X, making it more accessible for urban riders.

Design and features

The test mule sports 17-inch alloy wheels, unlike the spoke wheels on the Scrambler 400 X, suggesting a road-biased setup. The flat single-piece seat, extended side panels, and compact tail section give it a flat-track-inspired look.

Interestingly, the bike retains the Scrambler 400 X’s exhaust, mirrors, and front windscreen, reinforcing its scrambler DNA while keeping it city-friendly.

Engine and performance

The Street Scrambler 400 is expected to use the 398cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, producing 40 PS at 8,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Given its urban focus, Triumph may tweak the gear ratios and suspension setup for better street performance.

Market position and expected pricing

This new model is likely to slot between the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X, offering a scrambler-style ride with lower seat height and better accessibility. Triumph could price it around INR 2.55 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a compelling alternative to the Royal Enfield Scram 411 and Yezdi Scrambler.

Expected launch timeline

Triumph is expected to unveil the Street Scrambler 400 in late 2025, possibly during the festive season in India.

Our thoughts

As someone who loves seeing scramblers evolve, the Street Scrambler 400 looks like a smart addition. The flat-track styling and alloy wheels make it perfect for urban riders, while the Scrambler 400 X’s rugged elements keep it adventure-ready. And let’s be honest—who wouldn’t want a city-friendly scrambler with Triumph’s legendary DNA?
