Following the launch of the world’s most economical electric two-wheeler, Indian consumer electronics and home appliances manufacturer, Detel has launched the world’s most economical helmet called TRED. Tred is priced at INR 699 and is available for purchase through the brand’s official e-commerce website as well as Amazon and B2BAdda for bulk buyers. The Detel Tred is a BIS certified helmet which adheres to the industry-standard crash safety and weight norms.
Detel boasts to have thoughtfully designed the helmet for safety as well as comfort. The unisex helmet claims to use the latest technology in manufacturing and has been developed to be durable, trendy and affordable keeping in mind the everyday use of a rider. The Detel Tred is not only economical but also comes with features such as detachable cheek pad and visor, scratch-resistant visor, reflective head for added safety and removable interiors for ease of cleaning.
The Detel Tred is made up of an unbreakable shell with HD Fresh Granules, Radium Sticker on the shell, 40-45 density polystyrene thermoplastic interiors with 100-110 gram weight, Black Nylex/Interlock fabric 3mm to 6mm, star premium buckle with 16 gauge 1 hole zinc bracket, stainless steel rivets, bush, grille etc, 3mm Polycarbonate visor and a fabric carry bag with branding.
Recently, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) also notified that under the BIS certification and the publication of the Quality Control Order (QCO) all helmets must have ISI certification from 1st June 2021 and it will be an offence to produce or market any helmet which does not come under the IS 4151:2015 certification.
As per the directions of the Supreme Court Committee on Road Safety, a new committee that includes members of the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) and expert doctors from AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) was formed for Road Safety and to consider lighter weight helmets that will suit the Indian climatic conditions.
In other news, the world’s most economical electric two-wheeler, ‘Detel Easy’ is priced at INR 19,999 + GST. The 250W electric motor can propel the electric scooter to 25 kmph and the 48V 12AH battery claims to deliver 60 km on a single charge. The battery takes 7-8 hours to recharge at home and the e-scooter is targeted towards teenagers and individuals for last-mile travel and errands.
