Tata Harrier Petrol latest details
As seen in the distant spy image, the test car is seen with heavy camouflage. However, the front fascia is partially visible as the front grille, LED DRLs, and the vertical LED headlamps are seen unaltered.
The online reporting source also confirmed that the test car driver affirmed that it was a petrol version. This further confirms that the Harrier Petrol is in the final stage of its testing phase.
While the petrol iteration of the Harrier will not see any design changes, its main highlight will be the new 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, TGDI turbo-petrol engine.
Tata Motors has already showcased this engine at the Bharat Mobility Expo, revealing the specifications as it develops 170 PS and 280 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively.
This new engine will come mated to a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed wet-DCA automatic transmission option. The Harrier Petrol will be an important product as it is expected to decrease the price tag of the SUV marginally.
The current model is offered with a sole 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine option, which has been carried over from Stellantis.
While the online rumours suggest that it will launch before the festive season later this year, the Harrier EV is likely to make its debut ahead of it.
The Harrier EV, which was earlier scheduled for a March 2025 launch, is now expected to debut by June 2025. It will become the first AWD-equipped SUV of the brand.

Our verdict
The launch of Harrier Petrol will make the moniker more affordable as well as more practical for users who are currently restricted by the NGT laws in Delhi/NCR. Additionally, the new TGDI motor will offer the punch and performance for which the Harrier moniker is famous.
