Citroen will be introducing the second SUV in its portfolio in India. The brand will launch the new compact SUV tomorrow, 16th September 2021. The French car manufacturer has released a teaser image of the upcoming compact SUV, which is likely to be the Citroen C3. The teaser image only offers a glimpse of the LED DRL signatures of the vehicle and showcases the hallmark double chevron grille.
Citroen C3 – Teaser
The teaser image of the Citroen C3 features a unique front fascia with twin-LED light strips flanking the double chevron grille. The LED DRLs appear to be extensions of the grille design. The front bumper also features large headlamps integrating with the lower end on the LED DRL. The front fascia also includes a wide air intake for cooling the engine. The brand is also likely to offer a silver skid plate on the front and rear to reiterate the SUV design. The teaser of the C3 also shows power bulges on the bonnet and a progressive roof with roof rails. More details are reserved for the unveiling tomorrow.
Citroen C3 – Scale Model Images Leaked
Leaked images of the scale model reveal a butch and rugged design with contemporary styling. The quirky SUV will come with wraparound tail lamps with LED light signatures that reverberate with the front. The SUV is also likely to come with a large rear bumper with aero ducts and integrated reflectors. The Compact SUV is also likely to feature dual-tone machine cut alloy wheels.
Citroen C3 – Engine Speculations
Powering the Citroen C3 is likely to be a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol motor. The engine will pair to a 5-speed manual or an automatic gearbox option. In the past, Citroen announced that the brand will not be launching any diesel powertrain in India except the C5 Aircross. Therefore we believe that the C3 will only come with a petrol option.
Citroen C3 – Competition
The Citroen C3 will compete with the likes of the Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
