BMW M4 Competition Coupé 50 Jahre M Edition launched at INR 1,52,90,000

At the end of June 2022, BMW India announced that as a part of the 50th anniversary of BMW’s M division, the company will launch 10 exclusive special edition models for India. The German brand has already launched 3 ’50 Jahre M Edition’ models in the country. Today, the brand has announced the launch of the next one, the M4 Competition Coupe 50 Jahre M Edition.

The BMW M4 Competition Coupe 50 Jahre M Edition will come in via the CBU route, and BMW says it will only be available in limited numbers. However, the brand does not specify the exact number. The limited edition of the M4 Competition Coupe is now available for an ex-showroom price of INR 1,52,90,000. 

BMW M4 Competition Coupe 50 Jahre M Edition – Exterior Highlights

The limited edition of the M4 Competition Coupe continues to have an immense presence with large, clean and tautly drawn surfaces and character lines. With the 50 Jahre M Edition, it now sports the iconic M emblem sitting proudly above the kidney grille. The iconic M emblem also replaces the standard front and rear logos as well as the ones on the wheel hub caps.

It also gets an M-specific version of the BMW kidney grille with hallmark horizontal double bars. On the sides, it features M gills, extended side sills and M-specific exterior mirrors in high-gloss black. At the rear, it features a rear boot lid spoiler, rear diffuser and a pair of twin exhaust tailpipes in a Black Chrome finish.

The 50 Jahre M Edition of the M4 Competition will be available in two paint finishes. These are – Macao Blue and Imola Red. It will also get 19-inch front and 20-inch rear 826 M double-spoke wheels in an Orbit Grey or Gold Bronze finish. Standard equipment includes Adaptive LED headlights with BMW Laserlight. It will also be available with exclusive accessories such as carbon-fibre exhaust tailpipe trim and more. 

BMW M4 Competition Coupe 50 Jahre M Edition – Interior Highlights

The interior of the M4 Competition Coupe 50 Jahre M Edition remains largely the same as the regular model. Thus, it continues to have clearly structured surfaces and an ergonomic cockpit that ensures the focus remains on the driving pleasure. The limited edition has design lettering elements on the door sills, a metal plaque on the centre console, and seat headrests.

It also gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch control display. Furthermore, it also gets a 16-speaker Harmon Kardon surround sound system as standard. Other standard features include M Seat belts, a multifunctional M Steering wheel, ambient lighting and 3-zone climate control. There are exclusive accessories available for the interior as well. One such accessory is the M Performance steering wheel in carbon fibre or Alcantara.

BMW M4 Competition Coupe 50 Jahre M Edition – Technical Specifications

The 50 Jahre M Edition of the M4 Competition gets no mechanical changes. It continues to use the 3.0-litre straight-six engine with the latest M TwinPower Turbo technology. The engine produces 510 PS of power at 6,250 rpm and 650 Nm of torque at 2,750 to 5,500 rpm. The engine pairs with an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission. BMW claims the transmission enables not only short shift times but also precise responses to throttle inputs. The M xDrive system also allows the M4 Competition to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.5 seconds. Furthermore, it features Adaptive M-specific suspension M Sport Differential and M high-performance compound brakes as standard.
