BMW India has launched a new trim for the X5 xDrive 30d in India. The new M Sport trim will replace the xLine trim and will be the top-spec variant in the X5’s range. According to sources, the new trim adds a host of aesthetic updates to the SUV. However, the mechanical bits remain the same. The new range-topping X5 xDrive 30d M Sport costs INR 97.9 lakh ex-showroom. For comparison, the previous range-topping model, the X5 xDrive 30d xLine, retailed for INR 94.9 lakh ex-showroom.
BMW X5 xDrive 30d M Sport – Highlights
The inclusion of the M Sport design package brings a host of aesthetic updates to the X5. The M Sport variant gets a new, sportier-looking front bumper, rear diffuser and a new tailpipe design. Furthermore, it also gets blue M Sport brake callipers, M Sport logos on the front fender and an M-specific car key. The M Sport variant also rides on new 20-inch M light alloy wheels. These wheels are the Star-spoke style 740 M and have a bicolour orbit grey finish.
The X5 xDrive 30d M Sport will be available in three exterior colours and three upholstery options. The exterior colours are – Pythonic Black, Mineral White and Pythonic Blue. Meanwhile, the available leather upholstery options are – Ivory White/Black, Coffee/Black and Black/Black.
Compared to the SportX Plus trim, the M Sport gets a host of feature additions. These include steering-mounted paddle shifters, adaptive air suspension, an electric tailgate, a head-up display, adaptive LED headlights and a 360-degree camera. It also gets a premium 16-speaker audio system by Harmon Kardon.
As for the engine and gearbox, it uses the same 3.0-litre inline-6 turbo-diesel engine and 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The motor makes 265 PS at 4,000 rpm and 620 Nm of torque from 1,500 to 2,500 rpm. The X5’s engine sends power to all four wheels via the xDrive all-wheel-drive system.
