The Latin New Car Assessment Programme (Latin NCAP) has put the Made-in-India Suzuki Baleno to the test. The crash test organisation has revealed that the Baleno has received 0 stars in the crash test. The Suzuki Baleno comes with dual front airbags as standard. The car also features seat belts with pre-tensioners and load limiters. It is important to note that the vehicle was tested for the Latin NCAP market, and test results may differ from other crash tests. In the European market, the Suzuki Baleno comes with 6-airbags and ESC as standard.
Suzuki Baleno Crash Test Results
The Suzuki Baleno has scored just 8 points in the Adult Occupant Protection test. In the Child Occupant Protection, the Baleno scored 8.3 points with 0 points in the dynamic scoring. The Latin NCAP also revealed that the car does not meet regulation UN 127 for pedestrian protection. But the vehicle scored 30.7 points. The brand only offers seat belt reminders on the Suzuki Baleno. The car does not come with any ESC as standard, nor does it have a speed limitation device. The Baleno does not have AEB interurban and does not have standard ESC, scoring just 3 points.
Suzuki Manufacturing In India
Suzuki produces the Baleno at the Suzuki Motor Gujarat Private Limited (SMG), a subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, to manufacture automobiles. In October last year, the brand completed production of 1 million units. This was achieved in a span of just 3 years and 9 months, showing the popularity of the vehicle in both the Indian and international market.
The Suzuki Baleno competes with the Tata Altroz and the Hyundai i20 in the Indian market. In the recent past, the Latin NCAP also tested the made-in-India Swift. The Suzuki Swift for the Latin NCAP market also scored 0 stars for safety.
