Team HRT has announced that it will contest its 3rd season in the Endurance Cup of the GT World Challenge Europe. With three cars under its helm, the Meuspath team will use 2 Mercedes-AMG GT3s for the Silver Cup class. Meanwhile, the team will reserve the third car for taking points and podium in the all-new Gold cup class. The GTWCE calendar consists of 5 rounds in total, with the highlight of the season being the 24-Hour Spa-Francorchamps event.
The Drivers & Event Calendar
Team HRT has already confirmed the driver line-up for the GT World Challenge Europe who will drive the Mercedes-AMG GT3. Hubert Haupt (GER), Arjun Maini (IND) and Florian Scholze (GER) will drive #5 HRT GT3 race car during the event. The Mercedes-AMG GT3 race car sports the classic red HRT design, bearing the logos of nu concept and milon. The trio will debut themselves in the new Gold Cup, which replaces the previous Am class of the GTWCE.
For the event’s eligibility, each cockpit must feature a Pro (Arjun Maini), Silver (Hubert Haupt), and Bronze (Floian Scholze) driver. Meanwhile, a total of five race weekends make up the calendar for the Endurance Cup in the GTWCE event. Official testing for the event will begin from 7th and 8th March at the renowned Circuit Paul Ricard in France. The series will begin the new season from 1st to 3rd April at Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola.
Back in 2020, the circuit in northern Italy also hosted the opening round of the GT World Challenge Europe. The rest of the season will feature four additional endurance races from 3rd to 5th June 2022 in Southern France. Next on the calendar is the iconic 24 Hours of Spa, which will take place from 28th to 31st July. The penultimate weekend of the GTWCE season begins from 2nd to 4th September 2022 at the Hockenheimring in Germany. Lastly, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain will host the season finale from 30th September to 2nd October 2022.

In February 2022, Indian racing driver Arjun Maini joined team HRT to compete in the Asian Le Mans Series. The Meuspath team used one Mercedes-AMG GT3 race car with blue and yellow livery throughout all 4 of the series races. The team’s driver line-up consisted of Hubert Haupt (GER), Arjun Maini (IND), and Rory Penttinen (FIN).
