Written by News Team

Key highlights

  • Kawasaki is developing the new Z1100, set to slot between the Z900 and Z H2 in its lineup.
  • The bike will feature a 1,099cc inline-four engine, shared with the Ninja 1100 and Versys 1100.
  • Expected to rival the Honda CB1000 Hornet and Suzuki GSX-S1000, the Z1100 will bring modern electronics and aggressive styling.

Kawasaki is preparing to introduce the Z1100, a new-generation supernaked motorcycle that will bridge the gap between the Z900 and the supercharged Z H2. Leaked documents from the California Air Resources Board (CARB) confirm the existence of the ZR1100HT, which is believed to be the upcoming Z1100.

Engine and performance

The Z1100 will be powered by a 1,099cc inline-four engine, the same unit found in the Ninja 1100 and Versys 1100. This motor produces 136 bhp and 113 Nm of torque, ensuring a strong mid-range punch and high-revving performance.

Kawasaki is expected to tune the engine for raw streetfighter aggression, making it a direct competitor to the Honda CB1000 Hornet, Suzuki GSX-S1000, and Yamaha MT-10.

Design and features

The leaked CARB documents reveal that the Z1100 will weigh 370 kg, suggesting a reinforced chassis and premium components. The bike is expected to feature:

  • Full-color TFT display with smartphone connectivity.
  • Multiple riding modes, including a track-focused setting.
  • Cornering ABS and traction control for enhanced safety.
  • Semi-active suspension, likely sourced from Showa or Ohlins.

Expected launch timeline

The Z1100 is anticipated to make its global debut in late 2025, possibly at the EICMA motorcycle show, before hitting showrooms in early 2026. Given its flagship status, it is likely to arrive in India by late 2026 or early 2027 as a fully imported CBU model.

Our Thoughts

The Big Zed looks like a serious upgrade. The aggressive styling and modern electronics make it a worthy successor to the Z1000, and the 136 bhp inline-four promises thrilling performance. And let’s be honest—who wouldn’t want a streetfighter that blends raw power with cutting-edge tech? Here’s hoping Kawasaki keeps refining the Z lineup—it’s shaping up to be a game-changer in the litre-class naked segment!
