MG Windsor EV beats Tata Nexon EV in sales race, can this last?

The MG Windsor EV was launched in September 2024 in India and in October 2024, just in the span of one month from its launch, it became the best selling electric vehicle of its segment in India. A total of 3,116 units have been sold till date. Previously, the title of best-selling electric vehicle in India was held by TATA’s Nexon EV but MG Windsor EV has surpassed TATA as well.

MG Windsor EV sales performance:

The booking of MG Windsor EV started on 3rd October. Within the 24 hours of its booking commencement, it bagged over 15,176 bookings. MG Motor India posted their year-over-year growth of over 7,045 units, out of which 3,116 units were accounted for under MG  Windsor EV. MG motor has sold other EVs as well such as MG ZS EV and MG Comet EV, but the Windsor EV has surpassed them as well.

Powertrain and Variants:

The EV is backed up by a IP67 certified, 38 kWh Li-ion battery pack claiming a range of 331 km. This battery generates 136 ps of power and 200 Nm of torque. It comes in three riding modes: Eco+, Eco, Normal and Sport. It comes in three variants : Excite, Exclusive, and Essence. And when it comes to colors, it is available in four color options: starburst black, pearl white, clay beige, and turquoise green.

MG Windsor EV features:

The car comes with 18 inch alloy wheels. The car is equipped with a 15.6 inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 8.8 inch digital display, LED lights, LED Daytime Running lamps, LED ambient lights with 256 light options, Infinity sound speaker with 9 speakers, adjustable front seats and aero lounge rear seats which can be reclined up to 135 degree. Safety features include 6 airbags, 360 degree camera, surround view camera, electronic stability control, electronic parking brake, auto hold assist and tyre pressure monitoring system.
