MY25 BMW Motorrad S1000R & S1000RR revealed with updates

Written by News Team

BMW Motorrad has unveiled the MY25 versions of its popular S1000R and S1000RR models, featuring several updates aimed at enhancing performance and rider experience. The new models were revealed at the EICMA show in Milan, Italy, and are set to hit the market in early 2025.

Performance Enhancements

The MY25 S1000RR retains its 999cc inline-four engine, but now produces 206.51 bhp and 113 Nm of torque. The engine continues to feature ShiftCam technology, which optimizes performance across a wide range of RPMs.  The S1000R, on the other hand, gets a 168 bhp engine, a 5 bhp increase over the previous model.

Aerodynamic Improvements

Both models receive larger winglets designed to generate more downforce, improving stability and handling at high speeds. The S1000RR’s winglets are similar in size to those on the M 1000 RR, providing up to 22.6 kg of downforce at 300 km/h. The new fairing designs and integrated brake cooling ducts further enhance aerodynamic efficiency.

Rider Aids and Features

The MY25 models come with standard Pro riding modes, including Race Pro modes with adjustable ABS. The Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) now includes a Slide Control function, allowing riders to set specific drift angles for controlled slides. The M Quick-Action throttle with a reduced rotation angle enhances throttle control.

Design and Build

Visually, the MY25 S1000RR features a restyled bodywork with a curvier headlamp cowl and asymmetrical fairings. The S1000R gets a more aggressive look with blacked-out components and red accents. Both models come with carbon fiber elements and lightweight components for improved performance.

Market and Pricing

BMW Motorrad plans to launch the MY25 S1000R and S1000RR globally, with prices expected to be competitive with previous models. The S1000RR will be available in three variants: standard, Pro, and Pro M Sport, with prices ranging from INR 20.75 lakh to INR 25.25 lakh (ex-showroom).
