Yamaha has launched the new NMax Turbo in the Indonesian market. The new NMax scooter comes with new YECVT, however the turbo suffix which could be misleading for some is just a variant branding. But, the Turbo variant comes with a new CVT system that helps the scooter accelerate quickly thanks to electric assist. In the Indonesian market, the new Yamaha NMax Turbo comes with a starting price of Rp 37.750.000 in Jakarta. The top spec Turbo Tech Max Ultimate trim is priced at Rp 45.250.000 on the road.
Yamaha NMax Turbo – Engine Specifications
Powering the Yamaha NMax Turbo is a 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine producing 15 BHP of power and 14 Nm of torque. While this engine may be from the standard NMax the “Turbo” variants come with Yamaha’s latest YECVT technology. This is the first time that Yamaha will be using this technology on any of its products.
What is Yamaha YECVT?
YECVT stands for Yamaha Electric Continously Variable Transmission. YECVT features an electric assist on the CVT transmission which allows the rider to “shift” on the fly. With the touch of a button on the left hand control cube, the rider can shift the transmission boosting the acceleration of the scooter, especially for overtaking. The NMax Turbo also comes with a Sport Touring and Turbo modes which changes the acceleration dynamics of the maxi scooter.
Yamaha NMax Turbo – Features
The Yamaha NMax Turbo also comes with a colour TFT display, traction control, and dual channel ABS for safety. In addition to this, the scooter also gets LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs and LED tail lamps. The scooter also comes with Bluetooth integration for multiple features that can be accessed through Yamaha’s mobile application.
Currently, the brand does not have any plans to launch the Yamaha NMax Turbo in the Indian market.
