The Toyota Innova Hycross is expected to make its debut this month. While everyone is awaiting the launch details, the test mules of the MPV has been spotted once again on Indian roads. This time around, we can confirm that the cars gets a sunroof and we can also see more details of the interiors.
What’s new on the outside?
The main talking point of the new Innova Hycross is its sunroof – that too a large panoramic one. The sunroof extends from the top of the windscreen, and goes all the way back up to the C-pillar. Sunroofs are one of the most popular features in India. Buyers often choose a model based on sunroof availability.
What’s new on the inside?
On the inside, the video reveals some more details of the Innova Hycross. For starters, the cabin feels a lot more premium that the Innova Crysta. Toyota has used a new three-spoke steering wheel for this MPV. It remains to be seen what actual steering the Japanese carmaker offers at the time of launch.
The Innova Hycross also gets a large floating touchscreen infotainment unit. The dashboard also gets some chrome embellishments in the centre.
Engine options on the Innova Hycross
There is no diesel engine option on offer. The Innova Hycross will get a choice of petrol and strong-hybrid petrol powertrain options. It will come with a 2.0-litre petrol engine and a strong hybrid system. It is expected to be the same hybrid system as offered on the Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
Based on the Toyota TNGA-C Platform, the Innova Hycross will get a monocoque architecture with a front-wheel drive layout. This is quite a change from the Crysta’s rear-wheel drive ladder-frame configuration.
Launch and Price details of the Innova Hycross
While the car could debut later this month, pricing details are expected to be announced at the 2023 Auto Expo.
