American automotive manufacturer Jeep has officially revealed the new updated 2022 Renegade SUV for the South American market. After being leaked through a video, Jeep Brazil had to forcefully unveil the new Renegade SUV via a few photos. The automaker has been caught testing the updated Renegade since September 2021, when the first prototype had been spied. Jeep states that while the new Renegade will arrive in South America, it will also introduce the SUV in the US.
2022 Jeep Renegade: Design Details
The facelifted Renegade now sports a narrower front grille with the turn signals and LED DRLs integrated into the headlights. Jeep has ensured to equip the front bumper of the SUV with beefier cladding and reposition the rectangular fog lamps. Along with an altered front fascia, the new Renegade now sports new LED taillight graphics and a restyled rear bumper. Additionally, the new Renegade now gets a prominent faux skid plate, narrower corner lights, and new dual-tone alloy wheels.
2022 Jeep Renegade: Powertrain and Interiors
Based on official images, the facelifted 2022 Renegade unveiled in Brazil sports a T270 badge on its tailgate. This means that Jeep has equipped the new Renegade with a 1.3-litre, four-cylinder, Turboflex T270 petrol engine. The engine develops 185 PS and 270 Nm and may feature a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The current-gen Jeep Renegade in Brazil comes in two or four-wheel drive configurations, which may continue with the facelifted version.
Meanwhile, Jeep has made subtle changes to the overall design and layout of the facelifted 2022 Renegade’s interior cabin space. The leaked video suggests that the updated SUV will feature a new 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with new software. The automaker will also offer a new 7.0-inch, fully-digital driver’s display, a new steering wheel, and unchanged climate control switchgear. Jeep states that it will introduce the new facelifted 2022 Renegade in South America between January and February 2022.

Recently, Jeep also announced that it would introduce two new SUVs in the Indian market alongside the updated Compass Trailhawk. The two new SUVs in question are the Jeep Meridian and the Grand Cherokee, which will arrive in 2022. Jeep will likely introduce the updated Trailhawk in February, the Meridian in Q2, and the Grand Cherokee in Q3, 2022.
