Premium Italian motorcycle company Ducati has launched the 2021 Monster and Monster Plus in the Indian market. The new Monster and Monster Plus come with a unique design and dynamics as well as a powerful Euro5/BS6 emission compliant engine and the latest generation electronics. The Monster and Monster Plus is Ducati’s lightest, most compact and essential form possible. The motorcycle features a sporty engine wrapped in a super-bike derived frame, and the brand has retained the recipe from its debut in 1993.
2021 Ducati Monster & Monster Plus – Price, Variants & Colours
The Ducati Monster comes with a starting price tag of INR 10,99,000 ex-showroom for the Monster Red with Black Wheels colour. The bike also features a Monster Dark Stealth with Black Wheels, and the Monster Aviator Grey with GP Red Wheels come with a price tag of INR 11,09,000 ex-showroom. The Monster Plus Red with Black Wheels comes with a price tag of INR 11,24,000 ex-showroom. While the Monster Plus Dark Stealth with Black Wheels and Monster Plus Aviator Grey with GP Red Wheels come with a sticker price of INR 11,34,000 ex-showroom.
2021 Ducati Monster & Monster Plus – Design Highlights
The Ducati Monster & Monster Plus comes with a “Bison Back” inspired fuel tank and a “Shoulder-Embedded” round headlight. However, the concept of the new Monster is similar to what the unforgettable Monster 900 was. But the brand has revealed that the new Monster comes with an advanced and easy chassis. The ergonomics have been tweaked to offer less load on the wrists.
2021 Ducati Monster & Monster Plus – Engine Specifications
Powering the Ducati Monster & Monster Plus is a 937cc twin-cylinder engine arranged in a 90-degree Vee configuration. The liquid-cooled engine features an 11-degree Testastretta four-valve Desmodromic distribution system. The engine comes produces 111 Hp of power and 93 Nm of torque. The brand boasts to offers an excellent balance between power, torque and ease of handling. The engine comes with a 6-speed gearbox, featuring a slipper, self-servo hydraulically-operated multi-plate wet clutch and Ducati Quick Shift Up / down fitted as standard.
2021 Ducati Monster & Monster Plus – Monster on a Diet
The new Monster and Monster Plus come with an aluminium Front Frame. The lightweight concept is similar to the Panigale V4. The new lightweight frame weighs only 3 kg. This new frame is 4.5 kg lighter (60% less) than the previous trellis frame. This has helped reduce the dry weight of the motorcycle to just 166 kg. The motorcycle also comes with 1.7 kg lighter rims and a 1.6 kg lighter swingarm. Also, thanks to the GFRP (Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer), the bike’s subframe is also lighter by 1.9 kg. Compared to the Monster 821, the new Monster is an impressive 18 kg lighter.
