2021 Volkswagen Taigun SUV launched in India at INR 10.49 lakh

Volkswagen has launched the much-awaited Taigun SUV in the Indian market. The Volkswagen Taigun will come with a price tag starting at INR 10.49 lakh ex-showroom. The Volkswagen Taigun is the brand’s first product in the Indian market under the India 2.0 Project. Volkswagen has already started the production of the Taigun in the Indian market and customers can book the SUV from the nearest showroom as well as Volkswagen’s online sales channels.

Volkswagen Taigun – Variants & Colours

The Volkswagen Taigun comes with a dual trim concept. The Taigun will come with Dynamic Line and Performance Line variants. The Dynamic Line comes with a 1.0-litre TSI engine and includes Comfortline, Highline and Topline variants. The Volkswagen Taigun comes with five colour options – Yellow, Red, Grey, Silver and White.

Volkswagen Taigun – Price List

The Comfortline Manual comes with a price tag of INR 10.49 lakh ex-showroom. The Highline with MT comes with a price tag of 12.79 lakh ex-showroom and the AT comes with a price of INR 14.09 lakh ex-showroom. The Topline MT comes with a price tag of INR 14.56 lakh ex-showroom and the AT comes with a sticker price of INR 15.90 lakh ex-showroom. The Performance Line ‘GT’ will be available at INR 14.99 lakh ex-showroom and the GT+ will come with a price tag of INR 17.49 lakh ex-showroom.

Volkswagen Taigun – Design Highlights

The Volkswagen Taigun comes with a very European design language. The SUV comes with a horizontal grille with chrome slats and sleek headlamps. The car features a black applique on the front, the integrates the fog lamps and a silver skid plate. The Volkswagen Taigun features muscular wheel arches and a clamshell-style bonnet. The car also features infinity LED taillamps which encompass the entire rear end with an LED light bar. The SUV also gets distinctive Volkswagen timeless lines and boxy SUV styling.

Volkswagen Taigun – Engine Specifications

The Volkswagen Taigun comes with the Volkswagen Group’s renowned TSI family engines. Powering the Dynamic Line is a 1.0-litre engine three-cylinder TSI motor. The engine produces 115 PS of power and 178 Nm of torque. The motor comes paired to a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox. The Performance Line variants come with a powerful 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI engine. The engine produces 150 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. The motor comes with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.

Volkswagen Taigun – Features

The Volkswagen Taigun comes with features such as LED Headlamps and Integrated DRLs. The car also features an Electric Sunroof Dual Tone Premium Interiors with Sporty Red Ambient Lighting and Soul Leatherette Upholstery with Wild Cherry Red Stitching. Volkswagen also offers Ventilated Seats and a 60:40 rear seat split to access the 385-litre boot space which is extendable to 1405-litres. Volkswagen also offers a 20.32 cm digital cockpit and a 25.6 cm touchscreen infotainment system with Wireless App connect, Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The car also comes with wireless smartphone charging, KESSY with Push Button Start/Stop and Smart Touch Climatronic Auto AC with rear vents.

Volkswagen Taigun – Safety

The Volkswagen Taigun comes with safety features such as 6 airbags. The SUV also comes with Electronic Stability Control, Multi Collision Brakes and Hill Hold Control. The brand also offers  3-point Seatbelts for All Seats, Auto-Dimming IRVM, Park Distance Control and Rear-View Camera. The Taigun also gets Tyre Pressure Deflation Warning, ISOFIX Child Seat Mount and 40+ safety features.
