Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Suzuki will be launching the 2019 model of the Suzuki Gixxer 155 in India soon. The model is likely to come only with a cosmetic update and will employ the same engine available on the current model. A few images of the new Gixxer 155 have been leaked and according to the images, the 2019 model in terms of styling gets a similar muscular design along with a few revisions.
The bike gets a full LED headlight which is sleeker than the predecessor, sculpted fuel tank with sharper and beefier shrouds. The bike will also get a refreshed full digital instrument cluster, similar to the new Gixxer SF. For comparison, the earlier model had an orange back-lit instrument console unit and a more bulbous halogen headlamp. The rear of the motorcycle now has a step-up seat design unlike the single-piece unit on the current (old) bike and is expected to get LED lighting similar to the new Gixxer SF.
In the engine department, the 2019 Gixxer 155 will be powered by the same engine as the new 2019 Gixxer SF which has a maximum displacement of 155cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, SOHC motor producing 14.1 PS of power and 14 Nm of torque coupled to a 5-speed gearbox.
Mechanically the bike is expected to feature telescopic forks on the front and a monoshock on the rear and will be equipped with hydraulic disc brakes on both the ends equipped with a single-channel ABS. The wheels will be 17-inch ‘Y’ shaped alloys as seen in the pictures and are likely to come with tubeless tyres.
The leaked pictures lead us to believe that the bike will be launched soon in the Indian market and is expected to be priced around the INR 95,000 mark. The 2019 Gixxer 155 when launched will compete with the likes of the Yamaha FZ-S, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Honda CB Hornet 160R and others.
