Written by AnantaSaranNayak

Electric mobility firm Zypp Electric has announced its collaboration plans. As part of a deal, they aim to deploy one lakh electric scooters for food delivery company Zomato by 2024. These scooters will be used for last-mile delivery by Zomato. As a part of this collaboration, Zypp will provide delivery partners for Zomato across many cities in this country.

Following its sustainable transportation plan, Zypp currently has around 13,000 electric vehicles plying on the roads. The aim of the EV maker is to reduce carbon emissions by up to 35 million kg. Thus the company has an ambitious target to achieve more than 1 crore green deliveries through EVs by 2024.

All Food Aggregators Are Now Targetting To Go Full Electric Very Soon

This partnership also forms a part of a larger plan for Zomato to go completely electric by 2030. This is to achieve the target of “The Climate Group’s EV100” initiative. Food delivery has become a huge business in the country. And it will only grow further from here. Currently, all 2-wheelers are mostly running on petrol. And slowly and steadily they aim towards making their shift towards EVs. This will help them save costs and at the same time also add to the carbon footprint control. By using EV fleet management technology and innovative partner solutions, Boat is aiming to create a more efficient, sustainable, and customer-centric delivery experience.

Zypp Aggressively Expanding Its Reach To New Regions In The Country

Currently, Zypp has closer to 50 clients across the country. The company is now expanding its reach to various markets thus expanding its presence to new regions. Earlier this year, Zypp Electric, raised series B funding of worth USD 25 million. This was led by battery-swapping ecosystem provider Gogoro. Talking of the future, it has plans to widen its footprint to 30 Indian cities by December 2025.
