TVS Motor Company could be testing a new electric scooter in the Indian market. According to sources, the new electric scooter is likely to position itself in the B2B and B2C segment, used for commercial purposes. The last-mile delivery segment is adopting electric vehicles thanks to the ease of use, low maintenance and cheaper running costs.
The latest-generation electric scooters are also equipped with fast charging technology reducing turn-around times. Also, the high torque powertrains are able to efficiently take the load demands in the commercial delivery segment. Electric vehicles in the commercial segment are also in line with various policies laid down by the government of India, to reduce fuel consumption and import as well as to reduce air pollution, especially in major metro cities.
