TVS has posted its March 2023 sales figure. The two-wheeler posted a total sales of 317,152 units for the given period. This represents a rise in sales of 3 per cent as compared to the same period last year. During that period the company sold a total of 307,954 units. The manufacturer also registered a great domestic growth of 22 per cent. The sales went up from 196,596 units in March 2022 going up to 240,780 units in March 2023.
Detailed Sales Breakup
Motorcycle segment sales went down by 12 per cent as compared to the same month last year. But, motorcycle segment sales for TVS are on the decline from 141,250 units in March 2023 to 160,522 units in March 2022. This represents a YoY decrease in sales of 12 per cent which is a significant number. Noteworthy to mention, scooter sales got an increase of 5 per cent. The sales increased from 94,747 units in the month of March 2022 up to 128,817 units in the same month next year.
TVS iQube Sales On The Rise
The highest increase in sales was seen for the TVS iQube Scooter. The sales numbers of just 1,799 units in March 2022 went up to 15,364 units in the same month next year. On the other hand, the three-wheeler sales came to 9,593 units in March 2023 as against 15,036 units in March 2022. The TVS iQube saw a massive increase in sales.
TVS’s Export On The Decline
Although noteworthy to mention, TVS posted a decline in its export numbers in FY 22-23. It registered total export numbers of 75,037 units in 2023 March as against 109,724 units in the same month last year. Total two-wheeler sales in the 4th quarter of the fiscal year 2022-23 stood at 8.40 Lakh units as against 8.15 Lakh units registered in the fourth quarter of the financial year 2021-22. The three-wheeler segment of the company registered a total sales of 29,000 units in the fourth quarter of the financial year 2022-23. This comes in as against 42,000 units in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2021-22.
