Toyota Kirloskar Motor announces the price hike of Innova Crysta by 2 per cent. The company mentioned that the new price is applicable starting from August 2 2021. Recently, there has been a price hike across the automotive industry, and this is to offset the price rise of inputs like steel and other precious metals. The new Innova Crysta facelift hit the Indian market in November last year. There’s no significant mechanical change as such. But it does get a host of cosmetic upgrades.
Changes In The Exterior
In the front, the most prominent change is the new trapezoidal grille finished with piano black and subtle touches of chrome. The headlights now integrate with the grille giving it a more aggressive look. Lower down, the fog lamp housings have also been altered, and the new ones are smaller and sharper than before. The alloy wheels now get a dual-tone finish, which blends well with the other exterior changes.
What’s New In The Interiors?
This is the department where Toyota has made some significant changes. Starting from the central infotainment system, the latest one gets all the connected features and is compatible with android auto and apple car play. The new Innova Crysta also gets sim-based connected features, enabling real-time vehicle tracking, last parked location, geo-fencing, and more. The top of the line ZX trim gets a new upholstery option, i.e. Camel Tan. In terms of safety, the Innova now gets front parking sensors. The other safety features include seven airbags, hill start assist and vehicle stability control.
No Change In Engine and Mechanicals
The SUV retains the same 2.7-litre four-cylinder Dual VVT petrol engine. The power output figure of this unit stands at 166 PS of power and 245 Nm of torque. The diesel engine is also the same 2.4-litre that makes 150 PS of power and 343 Nm of torque. There are two gearboxes on offer, a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed sequential-shift automatic. Innova has been one of the most successful products from Toyota India, and this upgrade further makes it stand strong amongst its rivals.
