Toyota registers a total of 14,075 units in sales in the month of February 2021 which is 36% more than the same period last year when the brand sold 10,352 units in domestic sales. In the month of January 2021, the brand sold 11,126 units showing a growth of 27% when compared to February 2021. The brand also reveals that the latest Toyota MUV the updated Innova Crysta introduced in November 2020 and the new Fortuner and Legender SUV introduced in January 2021 have received a number of customer inquiries and are key to the growth in sales.
Toyota T-Serv
Recently, Toyota also introduced a pilot project in Bangalore called T-Serv which provides transparent and quality car servicing and aims at customers who have migrated from authorized service centres to the multi-branded garages. The brand has currently opened five T-Serv service centres under the pilot project and ensures quality workmanship and convenience with the use of Toyota certified technicians. The T-Serv workshops cater to regular services along with periodic maintenance as well as body and paint repairs.
Toyota HiAce a new MPV
It is also reported that the brand has introduced the Toyota HiAce in the Indian market at the price of INR 55 lakh ex-showroom. The MPV comes via the CBU (Fully Imported) route and aims at high-mindshare clientele as well as for fleet use. Powering the HiAce is the same 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that also does duty on the Fortuner. The Toyota HiAce comes with a seating capacity of 14 people and features all the bells and whistles with regards to creature comfort.
Toyota Testing Rav4 SUV in India
Toyota could be evaluating the Rav4 SUV for the Indian market as a test mule of the car has been spotted testing on public roads. Toyota could bring the Rav4 SUV in small numbers through the 2,500 homologation-free rule and reports suggest that the SUV is likely to arrive in mid-2021 with a price tag of INR 60 lakh.
