Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL) has released its sales report for August 2022. The company recorded overall sales of 79,559 units in August 2022. This translates to a year-on-year sales growth of 8.3 per cent as compared to August 2021. The sales breakup reads as 64,654 units in the domestic market and 14,905 units as exports in August 2022. This sustained growth indicates the rising popularity of Suzuki’s two-wheeler products in India and overseas. Suzuki will look forward to an overall positive market scenario with the festive season approaching. Thus, expecting the sales volume to reach new highs and balance the supply and demand.
With gradual improvement in the availability of semiconductors, Suzuki is now confident that the company will retain this sales momentum. SMIPL recently launched its iconic motorcycle, the Katana, for the Indian audience. And the motorcycle has been garnering a lot of interest amongst motorcycling enthusiasts. With the launch of the Katana in India, Suzuki Motorcycle India has 3 big bikes in its portfolio, Hayabusa, Katana, and V-Strom 650XT.
New V-Strom ADV In Works For The Overseas Market
Suzuki Motorcycles is most likely testing its latest iteration of the V-Strom ADV for the international market. The test mules of the upcoming motorcycle had heavily camouflaged motorcycles that used the all-new 700cc parallel-twin engine. This new 700cc parallel-twin engine has already been patented by Suzuki and is expected to replace the current 645cc V-twin engine. Suzuki is yet to reveal the performance figures, i.e., power and torque output from the new parallel-twin engine.
Furthermore, reports also state that with the introduction of the new parallel-twin engine, the upcoming V-Strom 700 might also feature a new platform. Thus, this could allow Suzuki to introduce a range of middleweight models with the new parallel-twin engine. The new V-Strom with the 700cc engine could make its global debut at the 2022 EICMA trade show later this year. Suzuki already sells the V-Strom 650 in the Indian market. Thus, we expect the new 700cc ADV to arrive in India as well.
