Written by Rohit Tonapi

Skoda and Volkswagen will be increasing their production capacity at the Chakan production plant. The manufacturers will do so by adding a shift at the plant. Currently, the plant operates in two shifts, and the new shift will be the third one. The manufacturers are anticipating more demand for the domestic and export markets.

Skoda is off to a good start for the year and recorded its highest-ever quarterly sales. Furthermore, the month of March saw the brand record its highest-ever monthly sales. The Skoda Slavia is a significant contributor to these figures. The new premium sedan recently bagged over 15,000 bookings. Skoda India plans to accelerate the new sedan deliveries and get ready for the Volkswagen Virtus launch.
