Automobili Pininfarina has announced that the brand has partnered with Naim Audio, an award-winning company that will design and employ a bespoke in-car sound system for the Pininfarina Battista all-electric hypercar. The brand has commenced the final stages testing from August 2020 and the Pininfarina is expected to start deliveries on 150 of these masterpieces equipped with the Naim Audio sound system, to its clients in early 2021.
The Naim Audio in-car sound system will be integrated into the luxurious interiors of the Battista by Automobili Pininfarina’s engineers and designers enhancing the hypercar’s ambience matching its bespoke exterior design that has been hand-crafted by Pininfarina in Cambiano near Turin in Italy.
The Pininfarina Battista audio system delivers 1300 Watts of power through 10 speakers arranged inside the cabin. The audio system also includes features such as a Dual Voice Coil Subwoofer located between the driver and passenger seats along with super-tweeters situated behind the seat and on the doors.
Naim Audio along with its fellow brand VerVent Audio togather optimised all the car’s speakers and tuned the Battista’s amplification and built-in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) system that claims to provide an immersive listening experience. The brand also claims that the tuning is optimised for both the driver and passenger with symmetrical speaker layout that creates an auditorium-like studio effect and such realism that it seems as if musicians are playing inside the Battista itself.
The Pininfarina Battista is powered by an all-electric powertrain with a 120 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that develops 1,900 Ps of power and 2,299.4 Nm of torque and the hypercar’s wind tunnel testing and simulation dynamic tests have revealed that the Pininfarina Battista is predicted to have a range of 450 km on a single charge. The electric car’s long-range is the result of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling and fine-tuning the aero package using CFD in a wind tunnel.
The brand has also revealed that not more than 150 examples of the hand-crafted car will be created worldwide and all of them will be equipped with the Naim Audio in-car audio system. Last year, the brand announced that 50 Battista’s have been currently designated to North American clients via six luxury car retailers who have partnered with Automobili Pininfarina – O’Gara Coach Co. LLC (Los Angeles), The Collection LLC (Miami), Miller Motorcars (New York), Price Simms Auto Group (San Francisco), Pfaff Automotive Partners (Toronto) and Weissach (Vancouver).
