Mitch Evans creates history for Jaguar TCS Racing

Jaguar TCS Racing’s Mitch Evans creates history in Rome as he becomes the first-ever driver to win both races in a double-header weekend. Mitch Evan also becomes the third driver in Formula E history to win races on two consecutive days. He also is turning Italy’s capital into his second home, winning three Rome E-Prix.

Mitch Evans moves to fourth in the driver’s standings with the consecutive race wins. Mitch Evans now only has nine points separating him from the leader. His teammate, Sam Bird, was forced to retire because of a collision. The Jaguar TCS Racing team now sit fifth in the team’s standings. The next round of the 2022 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will be at Monte Carlo, Monaco, on 30 April 2022. 

About the 2022 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship

The highest competition class for electric open-wheel racing cars enters its eighth season this year. The governing body for the 2022 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA). The ongoing season also marks the end Formula E Gen2 era.

The season began on 28 January 2022 with two rounds in Saudi Arabia at the Riyadh Street Circuit. The racing will continue for a total of 16 rounds. The season will end with another double-header at the Seoul ePrix in South Korea on 14 August 2022. The 2022 season will also include a new Vancouver ePrix.

Mitch Evans on his double-header win

Mitch Evans says the Jaguar TCS Racing’s I-TYPE 5 was “just perfect”. The racer came to Rome expecting to score some valuable points, but the double win was incredible, he said. While the first win was terrific, the second win made it a dream weekend for him. According to him, a second win in a double-header race weekend can be tricky. Now with a total of three wins in Rome, he says it is time to celebrate with the team. He also wishes to carry the momentum into Monaco for the next round.
