According to a media report, the specifications and features of the much-awaited MG Hector have surfaced the internet before its unveil which is due tomorrow. The MG Hector SUV will be offered in the 4 variants which are as follows:-
- Style
- Super
- Smart
- Sharp
According to the leaked specifications, the MG Hector SUV is expected to feature a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with internet connectivity, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. The instrument cluster features a 7-inch multi-information display and the car comes with features like cruise control, remote operation, heated ORVMs, ambient lighting, cooled glove box, electrically adjustable front seats and a panoramic sunroof. The car is expected to come with a 360-degree camera, 17-inch alloy wheels and 6 airbags.The MG Hector will have voice command controls to open the sunroof, operate the windows and such tasks.
The MG Hector is expected to be powered by two engine variants and the specifications are as follows:-
- 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 143 PS and 250 Nm of torque (Hybrid Option available)
- 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 170 PS and 350 Nm of torque.
- Transmission duties on both the engine are managed by a 6-speed manual gearbox along with a Dual Clutch (DCT) automatic on the petrol engine variant.
A hybrid variant is also expected to be on offer but there are no details about the engine (if at all it makes any difference to the power & torque and if this engine bumps up the efficiency) as of now.
The fuel efficiency figures as per the ARAI are as follows:-
- Petrol Manual – 14.16 kmpl
- Petrol Automatic – 13.96 kmpl
- Diesel 17.41 kmpl
The exterior dimensions of the MG Hector measures 4655mm in length, 1835mm in width, 1760mm in height with a wheelbase of 2750mm and a ground clearance of 192mm
The MG Hector is expected to come in five colours which are as follows:-
- Aurora Silver
- Candy White
- Starry Black
- Burgundy Red
- Glaze Red
MG Motor India will begin shipping the Hector SUV within the next few weeks. MG India will have a network of 65 showrooms across 50 cities when they commercially launch the Hector SUV. The MG Hector SUV will make its global debut on 15th May and MG India will begin pre-orders soon. The expected price tag is between INR 15 – 20 lakh.
