Recently, three new SUVs, two from the Volkswagen Group and one from British car brand MG entered the Indian market. All three SUVs sit in the hotly contested mid-size SUV segment. The two from Volkswagen Group are the Volkswagen Taigun and the Skoda Kushaq. Both built on the Indianised version of the renowned MQB platform, the MQB-A0-IN. The third is the MG Astor, built on the world-class MG ZS platform.
Now the three competitors are in the mid-size SUV segment, but MG claims that the Astor can outgun both the Taigun and Kushaq in terms of features. The features comparison is between the Astor Sharp (O) 220 Turbo AT against the Taigun 1.5T GT Plus DSG and the Astor Sharp (O) 220 Turbo AT vs Kushaq 1.5T Style DSG.
MG Astor Vs Taigun – Features
The MG Astor comes with the first in segment Level 2 Autonomous driving technology. The ADAS allows the car to be much superior in terms of safety and technology. The Astor also offers a panoramic sunroof as compared to the electric sunroof on the Taigun. The MG Astor also gets full leatherette seating compared to mixed leatherette seats. The Astor also comes with a talking robot, larger diameter tyres, 6 Way Power Driver’s Seat, 360 Degree Camera, blind spot monitor and an electric parking brake.
MG Astor Vs Kushaq – Features
The Astor features Level 2 ADAS, a Personal AI assistant, a panoramic sunroof compared to an electric sunroof on the Kushaq. The brand also offers a 7-inch instruments cluster compared to the 3.5-inch cluster on the Skoda Kushaq. Astor also comes with Side Curtain Airbags, Front Side Airbags and a Blind Spot Monitor.
Astor Key Features
The MG Astor comes with a plethora of segment-first and first-in-the-industry features. This includes Adaptive Cruise Control and Automatic Emergency Braking. Furthermore, the segment-first ADAS features also include a Speed assist system, Forward Collision Prevention system, Rear Drive Assist functions and more. The brand also offers 14 ADAS features, 80+ connected features and more than 30 safety features on the MG Astor.
