Mercedes-Benz has released a teaser image of the upcoming GLC SUV. The new 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC will be unveiled on 1st June 2022. The 2023 GLC will use the same platform as the recently introduced C-Class. However, given the taller stance, it will be more practical than even the C-Class estate.

The teaser image shows the rear bumper and taillights of the SUV. Mercedes-Benz posted the photo on a social media platform. The picture does not reveal much as it is dark. However, what’s instantly noticeable are the slim taillight clusters. Looking at the brighter edited photo, we can see the vents in the lower bumper, roof spoiler and a glimpse of the diffuser. These suggest the car in the image could be the AMG-Line trim.
2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV – What To Expect?
Mercedes mentions the new GLC will offer variable space for the rear seats. Though not confirmed, this could mean the sliding rear seat feature, standard on many other SUVs. Furthermore, Mercedes also confirms the new GLC will use the latest version of the MBUX infotainment system. The GLC SUV will also likely adopt the portrait style touchscreen display as seen on the C- and S-Class. The ‘fully digitized cockpit’, as Mercedes calls it, features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch portrait touchscreen display.
2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV – Powertrains
As for engine options, like the C-Class, all engines will get a mild-hybrid system at least. Another addition to the GLC range will be four-wheel drive as standard across the range. Expect powertrain options to almost mirror the ones on the C-Class. It’ll get a range of 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engines with a 48V mild hybrid system. Another option will be the PHEV variant. Mercedes claims the PHEV can do up to 100 km on pure electric-only mode.
The diesel engine options will be available for some markets, including India. Later on, there will also be AMG versions. The next-GLC 43 will use the same engine as the new C43. The engine in the C43 uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with a mild-hybrid system. The engine produces 408 PS of peak power. Even more performance-oriented versions, such as the GLC 63 and a new EQC, will follow later.
