Mercedes-Benz GLB SUV to be replaced by a new model?
Mercedes has officially discontinued its most affordable 7-seater SUV, the GLB, in India. While the company did not share any particular reason, it has been confirmed that a new GLB will come soon.
Launched in 2023, the GLB SUV was offered with petrol and diesel engine options. These were priced from a starting range of Rs 63.80 lakh, while the top variant was positioned at Rs 69.80 lakh.
The GLB offered the practicality of a full-size 7-seater SUV with comfortable seats the advanced autonomous features, and a comfortable suspension.
GLB facelift model
Mercedes also introduced a facelift of the GLB internationally, which features new bumpers, new lights, and slight revisions to its overall packaging. However, the facelift never made it to India.
Alongside the GLB, Mercedes sells its electric version called EQB. The EQB remains on sale, and it also received a facelift last year.
Not long ago, a new-generation GLB test car was seen at a fuel station in Europe. The heavily camouflaged test mule showcased a new design underneath its cover. Hence, there is a high probability that the new-gen model will replace the outgoing one in India.

Our conclusion
The prime reason behind the discontinuation, as per us, is its underpowered engine options. Moreover, its customers preferred the more powerful rival models like the Range Rover Discovery, which also has a strong road presence.
