Maruti has announced two S-Presso variants that can run on CNG. The LXI is priced at INR 5,90,000, while the VXI is available at INR 6,10,000.
Maruti Suzuki launched the 2022 version of the S-Presso in July with minor changes and feature additions. The S-Presso got features like idle start/stop, ESP with Hill Hold Assist and electrically adjustable ORVMs on select variants. The carmaker has sold 2,26 lakh units of S-Presso.
S-CNG Technology & Safety
With the launch of the S-Presso CNG, the Indian carmaker now offers ten models on sale equipped with CNG. These CNG variants get dual-interdependent electronic control units (ECU), an intelligent fuel injection system, stainless steel pipes and joints with integrated wiring harness for the CNG system and more. Further, the suspension is also tweaked to accommodate the CNG fuel tank in the boot. In terms of safety features, all CNG cars come equipped with a fire extinguisher and a micro switch that ensures that the engine doesn’t start during CNG filling.
S-Pressso S-CNG Engine and Performance
S-Pressso is powered by a K-Series, 1.0-litre Dualjet, Dual VVT engine that delivers a peak power of 56 BHP @ 5,400 rpm and a maximum torque of 82.1 Nm @ 3,400 rpm when run on CNG. It gets a 5-speed manual transmission, and the ARAI claimed fuel economy of the CNG variants is 32.73 km/kg.
