Maruti Suzuki has announced its collaboration with ALD Automotive group, leading fleet management and car leasing company in India. Currently, the Maruti Suzuki Subscribe programme is being offered in eight cities namely, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, Chennai and Ahmedabad. With this partnership, Maruti Suzuki has now expanded its Subscribe programme to Kochi and will look into adding more cities across India in the near future.
The customers have a wide range of models to choose from and the range includes the WagonR, Swift, Dzire, Vitara Brezza, Ertiga from Maruti Suzuki ARENA and IGNIS, Baleno, Ciaz, XL6 and S-Cross from NEXA. The subscription is offered with flexible tenures starting from 12, 24, 36 and 48-month and in terms of total annual kilometres options of 10K, 15K, 20K and 25K km are also made available.
Maruti Suzuki confirmed that the monthly subscription charge for the WagonR for a tenure of 48 months will cost INR 12,513 meanwhile Ignis for the same tenure will be available at INR 13,324 (including taxes). In addition to that, Maruti Suzuki will add services like 24×7 roadside assistance, scheduled maintenance, insurance of the vehicle and the customers need not pay any additional charge apart from the monthly subscription amount for the above-mentioned packages. The trend of car subscription is becoming increasingly popular in India. Along with Maruti Suzuki, a host of other carmakers like Hyundai, Tata Motors etc. have also started providing similar subscription plans to their customers. Broadly speaking this programme is best suited for customers who are unwilling to pay for the car entirely at one go and for the customers who regularly change their car every 4-5 years.
Maruti Suzuki has also mentioned that there would be no restrictions and the customers are free to take their subscribed vehicle anywhere within the Indian geographical limits. The subscribed car will have a white number plate and it will be registered under the name of the customer. There is also an option to subscribe to ‘self-drive’ cars which will have black number plates and will be registered under the name of the subscription partner.
