Kawasaki has launched the 2022 KLR 650 Adventure motorcycle in North America priced starting at USD 9,999 MSRP which is approximately INR 7.29 lakh in India. The Adventurer motorcycle is offered in a single CYPHER CAMO GRAY colour option. The KRL 650 is a go-anywhere motorcycle and carries over the DNA from its predecessor.
The Kawasaki KLR 650 is powered by a 652cc liquid-cooled single block four-stroke four-valve engine that features a 9.8:1 and a 40mm diameter electronic fuel injection system mated to a 5-speed transmission. The KLR 650 Adventures comes with a high tensile steel semi-double-cradle frame that rides on 41mm telescopic fork with 200mm of wheel travel on the front, a Uni Trak monoshock with adjustable rebound damping and adjustable spring preload on the rear with 185mm of travel and 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoke wheels shod in dual-sport tyres. The KLR 650 Adventure also features a single 300mm disc with a dual-piston calliper on the front and a 240mm single disc on the rear.
The Kawasaki KLR 650 reverberates with the brand’s latest-generation styling along with the classic Enduro styling such as a high set front fender, an upright front fascia with multi-faceted reflector headlamps, rounded auxiliary lamps on the body, a tall windscreen, camouflage side panels and nose, long-travel front suspension with gaiters, a tall fuel tank mounted close to the front allowing more rider movement on the seat, straight bench seat, mid-set footpegs, a heavy-duty sump guard, a large pillion grab rail with top box mounts, hard pannier luggage mounts, etc.
While the brand has not revealed any plans to bring the motorcycle to India, recently Team Green launched the 2021 Model Year Versys 1000 at the price of INR 11.19 lakh ex-showroom, India. The new MY21 Versys 1000 is INR 20,000 more expensive than the outgoing model and is now offered only in one colour option called the ‘Candy Lime Green’.
