Jaguar Land Rover has commenced bookings of the all-electric SUV the Jaguar I-Pace in the Indian market. The brand has announced that the Jaguar I-Pace will be offered in S, SE and HSE variants in India and deliveries for the 100% electric vehicle are expected to begin from March 2021. To ease the customer anxiety for electric vehicle charging Jaguar has also partnered with Tata Power in India to provide Home/Office charging solutions to I-Pace customers.
Powering the Jaguar I-Pace is a state-of-the-art 90 kWh lithium-ion battery that delivers 400 PS from its two electric motors that are capable of propelling the all-electric Performance SUV from 0-100 kmph in just 4.8 seconds. The I-Pace can also reach a top speed of 200 kmph. The battery pack is expected to provide a range of around 470 km on the WLTP cycle. The I-Pace is expected to come with an 11kW onboard charger as standard that enables fast charging to customers with three-phase electricity and is ideal for overnight charging. With an AC 7 kW, it takes 8.5 hours to achieve a state of charge from 0-100%.
Jaguar I-Pace customers will also be able to access ‘EZ Charge’ EV charging network which has been deployed by Tata Power which already has a charging ecosystem of more than 200 fast chargers across more than 23 cities in India. The brand will be expanding the charging system further in the near future. Also, the 90 kWh lithium-ion battery comes with 8 years or 160 000 km warranty. Furthermore, Jaguar also provides its I-Pace customers with a complimentary 5 years service package, 5 years Jaguar Roadside Assistance as well as a 7.4 kW AC wall-mounted charger.
In terms of features, the I-Pace comes with LED headlamps as standard, Matrix LED headlights with signature Daytime Running Lights, Animated Directional Indicators, on the top-of-the-line trim, 19-inch 5 split-spoke Gloss Dark Grey with contrast Diamond Turned alloy wheels, electrically adjustable seats, Meridian Sound System, 3D surround camera, Cruise Control and Speed Limiter etc.
The brand also boasts that since its debut, the Jaguar I-Pace has garnered several prestigious awards including the 2019 World Car of the Year, World Car Design of the Year, and World Green car. The I-Pace was the first car ever to win all three World Car titles simultaneously.
