Hyundai has sold over 3 lakh units of Venue ever since it came to India in 2019. The demand for compact SUVs has been rising, which is now reflected in the sales volume. Hyundai Venue has been the first choice for customers who are looking to get a vehicle with high tech features. Hyundai has been the No.1 SUV maker in India in 2020 and 2021, in which Venue has played a massive part.
By 2021, Hyundai sold a total of 2.5 lakh SUVs, to which Venue contributed more than 42 per cent of the sales. The market share for the given period for Venue stood at 16.9 per cent in its segment. Hyundai will also soon launch a facelift for the Venue. The facelift will bring new looks and features, increasing its appeal further.
Technical Specifications
Customers have a wide range of engine and transmission options to choose from. The most exciting is the 1.0-litre T-GDi engine with a 7-speed DCT gearbox. The innovative smart iMT (Intelligent Manual Transmission) also offers the best of both worlds, a manual and an automatic. The 1.0-litre T-GDi engine produces 120 PS and 172 Nm of torque. Hyundai also provides a 1.5-litre diesel engine which produces 100 PS and 240 Nm of torque. The diesel engine pairs with a 6-speed manual gearbox. There is a possibility Hyundai might offer an automatic gearbox with the upcoming Venue facelift.
A 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine is also available with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Interestingly, over 70 per cent of Venue sales are for petrol engine variants, i.e. 1.2-litre MPi and 1.0-litre T-GDi. All in all, there’s a powertrain for almost every possible engine and gearbox combination.
BlueLink Connected Car Technology
One highlighting feature of the Venue is its 52 Connected car features. Almost 18 per cent of the total Venue units sold came with Advanced Blue Link connected car technology. This speaks about the customer’s acceptance of Hyundai’s innovations and, at the same time, uplifts the standards of the vehicle as well.
