South Korean manufacturer Hyundai in India has officially started to accept bookings for its new compact-SUV, the Venue. The Hyundai Venue can be booked through Hyundai’s large number of dealership networks across the country or buyers can go online to the Hyundai India website to book the upcoming model.
The Hyundai Venue is the first connected SUV in India and has created a unique space in that segment. It is the brands first car to feature the split type headlight design language, which has a bumper mounted headlight and an LED daytime running light above it flush to the bonnet’s shut-line. The Hyundai Venue had 16-inch alloy wheels and large wheel arches giving it a a big SUV stance. On the rear end, the Venue gets a square design LED tail lamps. The Venue features an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Hyundai’s BlueLink technology, real-time traffic information and is integrated with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features include an electric sunroof, cruise control, air-purifier tech, wireless charger, rear air-conditioning vents, cooled glove box, cornering lamps and an Arkamys sound system.
The exterior dimensions of the sub-4-metre compact SUV are:-
- 3,995mm in length
- 1,770mm in width
- 1,590mm in height
- 2,500 mm in wheelbase
The car comes in two petrol options and one diesel option.
The engine options are as follows:-
- 1-0 litre Kappa T-GDI petrol engine producing 120 PS of power and 171.6 Nm of torque coupled to a 7-speed DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) & manual transmission
- 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 83 PS of power and 114.7 Nm of torque coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission
- 1.4-litre diesel engine that produces 90 PS of power and 219.6 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
In terms of safety, the Venue comes with 6 airbags, ESC / ESP and Vehicle Stability Management, hill assist control and brake assist system. Hyundai Venue also offers a ISOFIX child seat mount.
The prices of Hyundai Venue in India are expected to range between INR 8 lakh and INR 12 lakh ex-showroom and the booking amount for the new Hyundai Venue is set at INR 21,000 and bookings will remain open till 20th of May 2019. The Venue is set to launch on 21st of May 2019 in India and will compete with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Ford EcoSport and Tata Nexon in the sub-4-metre compact-SUV segment.
