Hyundai Motor India brings in the 2023 Alcazar with an all-new 1.5 Turbo GDi Petrol engine. This motor is both RDE-compliant and also E20 fuel ready. We were pretty much aware that this engine was in the making and has been in talks for a while now. But now, we have the official confirmation from the carmaker itself. We might very well see this motor with the new 2023 Creta as well. Hyundai has set the booking amount for the 2023 Alcazar at INR 25,000.
What Is The New 1.5 Turbo GDi Petrol Engine All About?
Hyundai claims that this new 1.5 Turbo GDi petrol engine in the Alcazar will come either with a 7DCT or 6MT gearbox option. As for the performance specifications, the SUV will make a maximum power of 160 PS and a maximum torque of 253 Nm. Hyundai further claims that the new 1.5 Turbo GDi is the most fuel-efficient powertrain in the class with the 7DCT version. The figure attained by this powertrain stands at an impressive mileage of 18 km/l and the 6MT returning 17.5 km/l.
Other engine options with the Alcazar include a 2.0-litre NA petrol engine which makes 159 BHP of power and 191 Nm of torque. There’s also a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine with 115 BHP of power and 250 Nm of torque. Both engines come with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
What Are The Changes With The 2023 Update?
In other updates as part of the new 2023 Hyundai Alcazar are some aesthetic touches. This includes a new front grille design and an updated puddle lamp logo that now includes the ‘ALCAZAR’ insignia. Regarding safety, the Hyundai ALCAZAR will now come equipped with six airbags as standard (driver, passenger, side, and curtain). The SUV now comes with the idle stop-and-go technology as well.
