Hero MotoCorp India has released its sales report for May 2022. The world’s largest two-wheeler maker posted a total sales of 4.87 lakh units. The figure breaks down as 4,52,246 units for motorcycles and 34,458 units for scooters. In the domestic market, Hero MotoCorp posted a total sales of 4,66,466 units. Meanwhile, the export figure stood at 20,238 units. This figure consists of both motorcycles and scooters. When compared to April 2022, the sales growth translates to 16 per cent. The figure for May 2021 stood at 1,83,044 units. The resurgence in the Covid-19 cases impacted the figures heavily.
The sales growth for May indicates that demand is gaining some traction as we go back to normalcy. Hero MotoCorp expects this positive trend to continue in the coming months. The onset of monsoon season, decent Rabi harvest, and supporting government policies will help boost sales. Additionally, the dip in petrol and diesel prices is also a relief for the commuters. Furthermore, the price slash in iron and steel inputs will also help soften steel prices in the domestic market. All these are favourable conditions for the sales to pick up the pace again and reach new highs.
